Forrest's 7th Birthday
Here are some photos from Forrest's birthday. Todd came out to visit us and ended up putting together most of Forrest's new Bionicle City (for those of you not up on the interests of 7-year-olds, that's a Lego thing).

Dawning of Age
I, Brian, had a disturbing conversation with my son tonight. I was tucking him into bed when he began rubbing my forhead with his fingertips and asked me, "Dad, do I have red lines on my forehead?"
"No, you don't."
"Well, why do you?"
"I just do."
"How did you put them there?"
"I don't know."
"Why did you put them there?"
"I didn't. They just happened."
"But how did they get there?"
So I responded the only way I could: "Go ask your mother."

First Day of School

Here is Forrest on his first day of first grade! We went to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago last weekend. It is *huge* and very cool. Forrest really liked the space section.

This is a gigantic model of the heart that you can actually walk through.
Forrest was "driving" a combine - there was a huge screen with a video of a field right in front of us.

Wuttke Visit - More Photos
For all of you who were worried, no, Jessica and Eric didn't die of heat exhaustion. (Good thing they didn't come out a week earlier - heat indices of 110 still aren't fun for us, either!)
Quin tasted his first corn on the cob and decided it tasted just as good as the other kind of corn, only more fun.

Our new backyard playset was a huge hit.
